Tinted glass is a type of glass that changes color through production process or by adding colorants. Its types can be classified from the following perspectives:
1. Classification by production process
Tinted float glass: high surface flatness, suitable for high-precision applications (such as building curtain walls, automotive glass, etc.)
Tinted ordinary flat glass: basic process, graded according to national standard GB4871, commonly used in general buildings or decorations
2. Classification by color tone
Common color series: including purple, gold, green, blue, brown, gray, red and other series. Specific applications include:
Ford Blue, Crystal Gray, Brown, Black: mostly used for aesthetic decoration, no special functions
Gray transparent, black transparent: suitable for minimalist modern style; Brown transparent: matched with new Chinese style or metal elements
3. Classification by purpose
Architectural grade: used for doors, windows, partitions, etc., need to consider light transmittance and decoration
Automotive grade: requires high strength and specific light transmittance (such as windshield)
Mirror grade: requires high reflectivity or special color
4. Classification by thickness
Tinted float glass: common thickness is 2mm to 19mm
Tinted ordinary flat glass: thickness range is usually 2mm to 5mm
Supplementary explanation: Colored glass is different from functional glass (such as coated glass, Lowe glass). Its main purpose is decoration or basic shading, not heat insulation, UV protection, etc. If you need to combine function and color, you need to choose a composite process product (such as coated color glass).
